Deep-vaulted session tapes meet masterful contemporary edits as Berlin's elite selector keeps the Godfather of Neo-Soul grooving forever.

Roy Ayers remains a towering figure in music history, pioneering jazz-funk through Roy Ayers Ubiquity and earning his title as the "Godfather of Neo-Soul". Gifted vibraphone mallets at age five by Lionel Hampton, he built a legendary career, elevated to stratospheric heights when sampled by mega-stars like A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige, and Kanye West. Following his passing on March 4, 2025, his vault continues to shape modern dance floors. Handed the keys to these tapes was Markus Lindner, aka Delfonic.  A Berlin DJ since 2004 and longtime head of OYE Records, Lindner is renowned for blending hip-hop aesthetics with wide-ranging genre mastery.

The Delfonic Reworked project began with a spontaneous edit sent to BBE Music founder Pete Adarkwah, turning into a massive physical release. After (August 2025)  Roy Ayers Delfonic Reworked #1 rapidly sold out, Delfonic Reworked #2 arrives with even higher anticipation. Drawing from BBE's iconic Virgin Ubiquity archives, a treasure chest of unreleased 1976-1981 Polydor-era sessions, Lindner extracts six rare, sought-after cuts and injects fresh club energy.

Lindner respects the original warmth of Ayers' multi-instrumental arrangements while beefing up low-end weight and dancefloor arrangements. The vibraphone may be silent, but through Delfonic's visionary reworkings, Ayers' eternal groove beats stronger than ever.
